Closing Session + Keynote: #MeToo, #TimesUp, What’s Next? How Travel Influencers Can Lead the Global Sexual Harassment & Assault Conversation

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Let’s gather one final time to examine some lessons learned, hear from our final keynote panel, and discuss how to move forward as empowered, professional women. You won’t want to miss this.

Our society is at such a pivotal moment for women, as stories of sexual misconduct and assault, particularly in the workplace, have dominated the news cycle. These stories continue every day. Stories that don’t make the front page. And they are from every industry, including our own.

The endlessly smart and perceptive women joining our panel each have their own story. They come from different backgrounds. They attack this issue in different ways. They are all affected. We are all affected.

PANELISTS
Hannah Logan: Hannah Logan is a Canadian travel writer and blogger who has written for Fodor's Travel, World Nomads, Livestrong, Good Housekeeping, Intrepid Travel, Hostelworld, and more. She secretly aspires to be just like Indiana Jones and her adventures to date have taken her to 45 countries across 4 continents. You can keep up with her (mis)adventures on her travel blog, Eat Sleep Breathe Travel, where she shares her stories and tips as a female traveller.

Justine Abigail Yu: Justine Abigail Yu is a communications and marketing strategist for the social impact space and has worked with organizations operating in North America, Central America, East Africa, and Southeast Asia. She is currently the Communications and Marketing Director for Operation Groundswell, a non-profit organization that facilitates educational programs on social justice issues around the globe. She has also recently launched Living Hyphen, an intimate journal that explores the experiences of hyphenated Canadians and examines what it means to be part of a diaspora. Her mission is to stir the conscience and spur social change.

Oneika Raymond: Media personality and travel journalist Oneika Raymond is the host of two Travel Channel series (“Big City, Little Budget” and “One Bag and You’re Out”) and is a travel expert on CTV Canada’s “Your Morning”. A true travel junkie, her adventures have taken her to over 100 countries. Oneika’s also the voice behind "Oneika the Traveller", an award-winning travel blog dedicated to inspiring women and people of color to see the world. She's written for and been profiled by publications such as the BBC, Condé Nast Traveler, The Wall Street Journal, National Geographic Traveler, Lonely Planet, BuzzFeed, and CNN.

MODERATOR
Ariel Goldberg: Ariel Goldberg is a queer, mixed-race writer, activist, survivor, traveler, consultant, and sometimes-poet based in Brooklyn, New York. She is the Creative Director for the Women in Travel Summit and the Deputy Digital Director for Lambda Legal, the oldest and largest legal organization serving LGBTQ people and people living with HIV in the United States. Her passion is for communication and expression, and she is fascinated by the ways in which storytelling manifests in art and in our hyperconnected world. Previously a content strategist with Federated Media Publishing and an editorial director at Wanderful, she has worked, edited, and traveled across the globe. You can find her around the web tweeting and writing on survival, queerness, fat acceptance, travel, and more.

We know this will be a challenging, thought-provoking, and emotional panel, but we have so much confidence in the women leading this conversation to use it for social good, both within the WITS community and in the greater travel space.
