Dené Sinclair (Ojibwe-Anishinaabe) serves as the Director of Marketing for the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada, and is of the leading Indigenous voices for tourism in Canada. She, along with her colleagues at the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC), are at the forefront of developments for an Indigenous tourism economy which is led by and for the benefit of Indigenous peoples across the country. ITAC is recognized as one of the leading Indigenous tourism organizations in the world, and attribute much of that to the unwavering focus on Indigenous owned and/or controlled ventures as authentic Indigenous tourism. Dené is nearing completion of her Masters of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on Indigenous Studies and Tourism Management from Royal Roads University in Victoria. She recognizes her homeland along the Red River Valley as a part of the St. Peters Indian Band, is a member of Peguis First Nation and lives and works on Treaty 1 Territory in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
